Lieke Peeters (1977) makes drawings, using coloured pencil, ink or mixed media. Subjects in her work are: the city, people, human behaviour, social relations. She often uses pieces of conversations in her drawings, phrases that she happens to hear from passers-by or strangers in public areas. Her drawings are seemingly normal daily scenes of what she saw, or: of what she might have seen. Lieke Peeters studied fine arts at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam. She lives and works in Amsterdam.
